What? Why? and How?
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Moralis?
Moralis is the crypto data layer - a cross-chain crypto data platform offering crypto data APIs, real-time blockchain monitoring with Moralis Streams, and massive crypto datasets with Moralis Datashare. Use Moralis to fetch onchain data, monitor events, and power analytics and apps.
Who uses Moralis?
Anyone who needs blockchain data - exchanges, wallets, dapps, analytics dashboards, gaming studios, fintech and custody platforms, market makers, real-world assets (RWA) & tokenized-asset projects.
Which products does Moralis offer?
- Data APIs - Wallet API, Token API, NFT API, Price API, and Blockchain API for EVM and Solana. Use them to fetch balances, transfers, ownership, prices, approvals, and more - including historical queries.
- Streams - Real-time blockchain monitoring. Define contracts, addresses, or events, apply filters, and get onchain activity (transfers, mints, burns, approvals, contract calls, wallet activity) to your backend as JSON via webhooks.
- Datashare - Export massive pre-indexed blockchain datasets for deep analysis, backtesting, and historical research. Ideal when APIs aren’t enough and you need bulk data at scale.
- RPC Nodes - Get direct access to raw blockchain data with our RPC nodes, for full flexibility.
- Cortex - Connect LLMs to blockchain data. Ask natural language questions about crypto queries and get real answers - no more hallucinations.
How do I upgrade my plan?
Sign in to Moralis and click Upgrade Plan in the top-right of your admin dashboard. Choose a plan and confirm.
Which blockchains are supported?
Moralis supports all major EVM networks and Solana. See docs for the current chain list and endpoint coverage. If your chain isn’t supported, submit it on our chain integration page.
How do I get started and get an API key?
Create a Moralis account, open the admin dashboard, and manage your free crypto API keys under API Keys. Quickstarts are in the docs.
How do Streams work?
Create a stream, select the wallets, contracts, or events you want to monitor, set desired filters, and connect it to your webhook URL. Moralis will listen to the real-time onchain activity and deliver JSON payloads with 100% data delivery guarantee.
Do Moralis APIs provide historical onchain data?
Yes. Many Moralis Data API endpoints support historical queries, such as past wallet balances, token transfers, NFT ownership history, and historical price data. For large-scale dataset exports or backfilling, use Datashare.
Can I build an NFT marketplace, wallet, or analytics app with Moralis?
Yes. Use relevant endpoints from e.g. our NFT API, Wallet API, Price API, and Streams. See our Solutions pages for blueprints and best practices.
What are CUs and rate limits?
CUs (Compute Units) measure API usage. Higher plans increase CU budgets, request throughput, and feature access. See Pricing for limits per plan.
Do you offer SLAs and priority support?
Yes on higher tiers. See Pricing or contact Sales for SLA and support options.
How do I downgrade or cancel?
In admin, navigate to Settings and Plan & Billing to manage downgrades or cancellation. Changes apply per your billing cycle.
Where can I find implementation tips by use case?
Check Solutions for specific examples of how to use Moralis for your use case - with specific pages for e.g. crypto wallets, portfolios, crypto tax, AI agents, neobanks, stablecoins, and tokenized stock projects.
