Circle Yield enables institutional investors to generate interest by lending out USDC through overcollateralized loans.
Circle, the issuer of USD Coin (USDC), introduced a yield program in June 2021. This program allows institutional investors to generate interest by lending their USDC. To participate, users need to deposit a minimum of $100,000 USDC, which is then lent out to Circle Bermuda. The funds are subsequently allocated to investment partners who lend them out in the crypto market. Users receive interest in USDC, with the interest rates being updated on a weekly basis. The loan terms offered range from one to 12 months.
