The majority of authentication methods currently rely on the centralized OAuth and SMTP protocol framework. However, this approach unintentionally turns authentication service providers into centralized repositories of user Web2-Web3 data. This accumulation of user information poses a substantial threat to the security and privacy of Web3, potentially compromising users’ identities and assets. DAuth, on the other hand, is an enhanced and tailored iteration of OAuth specifically designed for the Web3 ecosystem. It offers inherent privacy and trustless access to social accounts for wallets, decentralized identifiers (DIDs), and decentralized applications (dapps). By leveraging DAuth, users can enjoy a more secure and private Web3 experience.
